We left town on Friday for the holiday weekend at the Island House. Thanks to Ryan's Aunt and Uncle, they are gracious to allow us to use their piece of paradise. This was a special trip for us because our girls got to spend time with cousins Peyton, Brady and Rylee. And of course, Aunt Angie and Uncle Jon. Grandma Becky also joined us and was a great help! We have never been to the beach house with everyone so it was a nice treat to get everyone together.

We started out Friday by getting their around 6:30. We enjoyed setting up and getting the pool ready for the kidos on the back porch. We settled down early getting ready for a full day at the beach. On Saturday, we headed down to the beach after breakfast and coffee, of course. The beach was a little rough but fun to splash in. My girls love the beach and enjoy it so much. It was nice to see all the cousins playing together. Madison absolutely loves her cousins. She thinks she is their second Mama. She will be a good babysitter one day. Later after lunch, we went on our first fishing expedition with the kids. They had a ball catching pin fish after pin fish. They thought they were catching the biggest fish of all. It was fun seeing them so excited fishing. We ended the second night with a spaghetti dinner. After dinner, Jon introduced my kids to the Wii which was a blast. Peyton and Maci squared off with a round of boxing. They both have the same, "I want to win everytime the play" so it was funny. Then, we played bowling and a few other games.

On Sunday, we ventured down to the beach for another day sunning and making sand castles. We had awesome weather the whole trip. While the kidos were napping, Ryan, Madison and I went fishing. I am really starting to like fishing. Never thought I would but it really is a nice relaxing family sport. I caught 3 jack fish and one snapper. Madison caught 2 jack fish and a snapper. Poor Ryan, had to help us out such much he didn't get to fish much. I finally am making a lot of progress in fishing because now I will bait my hook. We then grilled out for the evening and played more Wii and watched a movie. The last day came and the girls were bummed out we were leaving. We went to the beach for a little and then had lunch and began to pack and come back home to reality.

Congrats Joy!

Joy getting her diploma!

My future sister-in-law just graduated from Stetson Univeristy Law School. Before that she attended Florida State University. She is currently living in Greenville, South Carolina and is studying hard for her Bar Exams. We wish you the best of luck!

My brother moved up to Greenville a few weeks ago and is enjoying his job as a Firefighter/EMT. We will have to come and visit and actually see the seasons change. Eddie and Joy are planning to get married in the Spring of 09'. They are planning on getting married in St. Pete area with the reception on the beach. I can't wait for the wedding and looking forward to getting to know Joy better.

Congrats Joy

Madi and Maci at Chloe's B-day party!
Monday night at Maci's program they played the Tracie Adkins song "You are going to Miss Her" and it is such an awesome song. The song starts by talking about a mom dropping her daughter off for school and her saying how she can't wait to be old enough to drive and make her own rules, her mom says you better enjoy what she has now because she's going to miss it when it's gone. This is so true. Growing up you take things for granted and really can't wait till your out of the house. Then, once life settles in you realize what you really miss now, such as my Mom's great meals and my Dad's great humor. You do surely miss them when your gone. My Dad was saying he heard this song too on the TV and really enjoyed it and it reminded him of us. This is one of the verses from the song:

You're going to miss this
You're going to want this back
You're going to wish these days
Hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may know it now
But you're going to miss this

Before she knows it
She's a brand new bride
In her one bedroom apartment
And her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"
She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies
And buying a house
Daddy shakes his head
And says "Baby just slow down"

I am going to go buy this CD it came out last month. Such memories and with Ryan and I being responsible for two girls this song really is great!
One of my favorite bible verses as a parent to strive towards is:
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it!
Mom and Dad we haven't departed from it, WE LOVE YOU!!
If you haven't hear this song, try and find it, you will love it. I posted some random pictures of great times, I am surely going to miss!

First Baptist Church Preschool Graduating Class of 2008

Maci had her preschool graduation and program last night. First let me tell you that I have been hearing about this program since January. She loves performing. Maci has talked so much about the program and was counting down the days until it was finally here. I think she also told most of the family about it as well. It was amazing. I am so happy for Maci and at the same time I am a little sad she is growing up so quickly. Time surely flies by. Maci's teacher Mrs. Dawn is amazing and we will miss her so much. Madison also was lucky to have Mrs.Dawn as a teacher. She is truly a natural teacher and also a believer of Christ and made sure the students learned about God as well as the academics. What a great balance!

The program started out with them galloping around the church with horses. It was so funny because they were all over the place and of course me and my OCD issues with taking pictures, I couldn't find her. It was a fun start to the program. Some of the songs they sang were: "The Great Adventure", "Wild Ride" (Maci indeed, HA) "God is Good", "Worship You Forever", "Cowboy Dance" and my favorite one of all was "Awesome God". They signed this song and it was beautiful. I love that song and Maci sings it all the time in the car. The dads were called to the stage to dance with their child. It was funny, Ryan loved it, HA! Maci loved having her daddy dance with her. After their performance as Cowboys and Cowgirls, they changed into their graduation cap and gown.
Then began the Graduation March. It was so cute. Maci came down the aisle with the biggest grin on her face. Then they sang "One Small Voice" which is a sweet song. Maci and Madi Culverhouse sang it together at the Christmas program. Then it was on to the presentation of diplomas. It was a fun night. After the program, Cristy and Ashley and I made sure the 3 amigas had their pictures together. They have been the best of friends since they were in the nursery at First Baptist. One day, I know we will have their high school graduation pictures together. I am blessed to have such great friends as Cristy and Ashley. My next post will be about a song they played that touched my heart but I think I blogged enough for this post. So, WE LOVE YOU MACI!!!

Madison's 2008 Cheer Banquet

Madison very excited!!
Madison with her trophy and award for tumbling!

Cheer Buddies- Madison, Taylor and Alex

Mrs. Jenny, Madison and Ms. Kayla (her coaches)

Madison had her 2008 Cheer Banquet a few weeks ago. We had a great time with a catered lunch, dessert and all. They had a slide show representing all the competitions and fun moments at the Edge. I am so proud of Madison and her growth at the Edge. She is not only is a sweet child but she is a great Cheerleader. She is energetic, loves to make facials and loves performing. This year she received an award for getting her back handspring. I am so proud of her. She had to do 3 back handsprings at her last competition. Maci will be joining her next her but Maci will be on the Mini's team. It is going to be fun times watching Maci. She takes this cheerleading and tumbling VERY serious. She will practice her tumbling over and over until it is right. She can do a cartwheel, roundoff and a handstand to a backbend. This summer Madi and Maci will be taking private lessons with Maurice. He is awesome with the kids. Looking forward to a summer of tumbling...Family get ready for next season.

We had a great time at Madison's last cheer competition in Daytona Beach Florida. They went up against five very competitive teams and got 2nd place. They were awesome! We had a fun weekend. We left Friday after work and followed my Mom and Dad to the Beach. My parent's were very generous to pay for the hotel room for two nights (thanks, this helped out so much). We stayed on the beach and had some fun times. We went to an entertainment district on Friday night and ate at a Mexican Restaurant then went down to the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. It was so exciting to show the girls the boardwalk and Daytona Beach because this is where I went every summer for a beach vacation. I can remember saving my coins for the Boardwalk game room. The girls had fun playing games and they even got to ride on the skyride over the Atlantic. My Dad spoiled us the whole weekend. He purchased the girls clothes at the Cheerleading events and tried to pay for everything we did or ate. My parents are very giving with treating their family with fun times. Ryan's family made it up for the day and the girls were able to spend a few hours with Peyton on the beach.

After being at the pool and beach on Saturday we took off to the Restaurant called "The Inlet". It was the neatest place. We got to dance to a live band that played music from the 50's-80's. It was a blast! We danced until our table was ready. Me, Madison and my Dad danced most of the time. Maci wa sick and didn't feel well. We had so much fun dancing, man my Dad sure can dance!

We had a great time! Enjoy the pictures!
